What the role involves:
- Operating, maintaining and repairing main propulsion and all auxiliary machinery.
- Owning the planned-maintenance system, spares and the engine-room budget.
- Keeping the vessel compliant with MARPOL, SOLAS and class/flag-state requirements.
- Leading and mentoring the engine-room team.
- Working closely with the Master, superintendents and class surveyors.
Responsibilities
- Competitive rotational day rate, matched to rank and vessel type.
- A clear, predictable rotation and a choice of vessel types.
- A single point of contact for documents, travel and crew changes.
- Long-term, repeat work with established operators.
Minimum qualifications
- Valid STCW III/2 Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency.
- Sailing experience as Chief Engineer, or a strong senior Second Engineer ready to step up.
- Hands-on experience with the relevant engine types (e.g. MAN B&W, Wärtsilä).
- Valid medical and full STCW basic and advanced safety certificates.
- Fluent working English.
